Financial Contributions

Ahimsa Trust started its work with a donation of the money awarded to one of the trustees, when she received the United Nations Volunteers Ambassador award in 1996. Since then the Trust has relied on the generosity of many individuals and institutions. It has been also supported financially by:

  • Individual donors from across the world including Simran and Raul, Stephanie Thapar, a large number of members of our Ahimsa sangha.

  • Pilgrims who participate in Shantum’s Eleven Directions and Buddhapath  journeys often feel moved to contribute and have been  our main donors including Renate and James, Annie and Paul Mahon, Christopher and Lilla Ohstrom, Gary and Helena Hill, Enid and Al Sanford and many other friends.
  • Royalties of books of Thich Nhat Hanh that were published in India.
